Sick bird and no vet..??

There's something not right with 1 of my birds. He's barely chirping and when he does, he's quieter than normal, keeps slowly closing his eyes and occasionally walking from one end to the other a few times on his perch. The closest vet that i use that sees birds (1 hour and 20 minutes away) is now closed for 4 days. No other vet in my area will look at him and the emergency number to the vet I use, doesn't even take on birds. Will keep checking vets further away but probably none that will be open due to it being Christmas. Nothing I give him has changed so not sure whats wrong. I have a travel cage, should I put him in that even tho it might cause him more stress..?? He isn't tame and when he's been in it before, he just climbed around constantly. Only thing I can think of is there has been a bit of a drop in temperature and draught in their room due to crap windows and windy weather but it's the same every year so not sure if it could just be that..??
