she has an egg inside of her and I haven't petted inappropriately or provided other stimulation. If it doesn't pass, it a potentially dangerous prosteglandon injection in the AM...another day off work too. Very worried, and vet is an hour away and I am $400 in..closer to 6 by tomorrow if this doesn't resolve. These shots can lead to prolapse...

Great job getting Noodles to the vet for early diagnosis and intervention. Kudos for trusting your instincts! Hoping the egg will emerge without the need for meds. As Laura suggested, parrots are programmed to reproduce.

My impression is larger birds tend to have fewer reproductive complications from egg laying. Let us hope this is one and done!

Still no egg....I'm not surprised.... I mean, Noodles is a massive baby and comfort seeker...there's no way she'd agree to push out an egg....
Very scared about the injection (10:20 appointment)...if it doesn't work within 24 hours, surgery would be the next step...
She's never laid an egg and I am terrified!

This is scary , im hopeful tge egg will pass as nature intended. Try not to let her see your stress. Burds have some control on when they lay, you want ger relaxed. Yiu will be in my thoughts all day.

post 1st injection: still waiting....clear slime...no egg....it's low (the egg) but now she has been contracting so long that she is running out of energy. THIS IS MY HELL. We will go back (2 hours more in the car) if there is no egg by 4.
