We're currently in the middle of being blasted with snow and now freezing rain...we have about 8"+ of snow, which is A LOT for our area- we get snow like this once every 5? years lol but it's usually one or two light snows every winter if we're lucky...towns here aren't really prepared for snow like this, so people get crazy- runs on the grocery stores, people driving when they shouldn't, school districts making the call too late...it's a disaster. Lol. But I love it!!! We usually just stay home, but of course my husband *HAS* to go driving in it  but he's an EXCELLENT driver in the snow, so I try not to worry too much ;)

Chili checking out snow for the first time...she gets this neurotic look in her eye lol

I'd get a neurotic look in my eyes too if I had to be near all that. Great pics!

OMG you sure had a lot of snow.

I know exactly what you are going through, quickly getting more groceries, the roads etc.

I must admit we do not have snow in abundance like you guys do.

Enjoy the scenery while it's there LoL

Loved the pic's

Thanks for sharing

I find a couple of things neat about your pictures, they look almost black and white with just a splash of color here and there, like the little boy walking in the snow with his back turned. I also love the picture of the old tractor, this one could win awards I believe. But anyway, they are very nice.

Thank you Mike! I'm a sucker for taking pictures ;) and of course with all this snow I have five million and one new pictures haha.

A few background notes - the old tractor is still operational...my FIL uses it at least once a week lol and the old truck is a '51 ford F1- my husband's project truck that's on the verge of being street legal... My FIL has a '46 in the shop.

We had a batch of freezing rain last night, so everything is covered in a nice, thick, crunchy layer of slickness

i think when the rain freezes to everything, like with ice storms, i think they are possibly the most beautiful weather phenomenons out there. deadly, but theyre just so pretty when everything just sparkles from the ice.

i agree with mtdoramike, your photography skills are amazing! i love the tractor photo especially, there's just something special about it.

I love the ice too!! Very cool to look at- I saw a story online a bit ago; a mom took her boy outside to play in the snow and they blew bubbles and she took pictures- the bubbles FROZE and they were the most amazing pictures!!!

Btw- the ice on top of our snow is thick enough that our dogs (70ish lbs each) can walk ON TOP without falling through to the snow

And thank you! :) most of my photos these days are from my iPhone, which I'm getting a new one in a couple days- I'm excited about the new camera it has :D
