Sudden self-mutilation during incubation in Green cheek conure

Just a quick update for all you lovely people -- the 'hiding the baytril in ribena' is working really well. She's much, much brighter and happier today: standing on one leg again, wombling all round her cage and (thank goodness) is eating loads. The only downside to this massive improvement is that she's spending hours biting at her collar to try and get it off, which is a bit stressful. But I don't blame her, considering :D I'm going back to the vet on Tuesday and we'll take it from there, but I'm sure you're all right about keeping the collar on a good long while. I'm guessing several weeks, until the skin's absolutely healed and (hopefully) getting feathered again. Thanks again all! Helen.
