Any suggestions for transferring my GCC from one cage to a new cage. The cages are similar in size and I should be able to move all of his toys to the new cage.

This move will benefit my bird because he will have an open arch top with debris catchers and it should be easier for me to clean. :)

Set the new cage up next to the old and see what happens. He might want to investigate it right away, or he might be afraid and need to get used to it. Maybe treat it like another play area, put a couple of familiar toys in similar location. I'm personally frightened of the arch tops, because so many times a bird foot or head gets into the gap as it closes - since the sides go down by gravity, they can drop if I lose hold or get startled by a lunge. Come to think of it, maybe I can put a stop in place to prevent accidental toe smashing...

Two cockatiels and a Green Cheek Conure.
I had no problems switching cages for Mango. He easily went into the larger cage and started inspecting it, and was home in it immediately.
