An icon in the Parrot Community has passed away. Sally Blanchard, she was 78. Fly free as we say. Condolences to her family.

Sally carved out a reputation as one of the Pioneering Experts of our 'instinctively Wild' Parrot Companions. The Companion Parrot Quarterly (formerly The Pet Bird Report), published by Sally, is a widely read publication, which covers all things Parrot.

Last month there was a gofundme to help her as she found herself in hard times. She had shoulder surgery with a hard recovery that was ongoing. Selling her Etsy Art, and Books, that supplemented her SS, was too hard, and then this past month she was suffering from Long Covid Symptoms after a breakthrough infection earlier. I guess it all took a dangerous toll.

A True Expert, she will be missed!!

Oh no. I have one of her books too. That’s so terribly sad. I wish experts in esoteric fields were better able to make a comfortable living; it seems so unfair when she has helped so many others. Fly free Sally.
