Theo my new Jenday Conure

Hello everyone... I just bought home Theo, he's a 3 month old Jenday Conure... He is very friendly doesn't bite me tastes sometimes like any normal bird... He won't come to me when he is out of his cage... He will step up with no problem but he prefers to climb on his cage or sit on his table top play area... How do I get him to associate me with safety and comfort? Is there any bonding tricks I should know that will make his terrible twos better when the time comes? He is very friendly for a baby. He came from a box store pet shop so I was surprised when I saw him and saw how he came right over and wanted to play. He is a little bit more mouthy with my boyfriend. Overall he is just great! Any tips or ticks would be great thanks so much!

Clicker training aka positive reinforcement! A great first behavior to teach is target training, and that behavior can then be used to teach other behaviors, such as step up!
