Phoenix (sun conure) is about to be 2 months old and is slowly weaning. I have 2 questions:

1. Are there any creative ways of not having the majority of the veggies fall through the bars on the bottom of the cage? I'm sure it will help a little when he will eat it out of the bowl on the normal level, but for right now I am putting them in a mason jar lid on the bottom since he still spends most of his time low. He takes a small bite and drops the rest.

2. Do your birds eat only the bean out of the green bean and not the rest?

Parrots
Kiwi -Pacific Parrotlet, Rio - Senegal. Both hatched 2/2013
I put a paper towel on one side under the food bowl. I have a parrotlet, they don't use their feet like larger parrots hold their food. Poor thing, she is get a nice large piece of food, tries to stand on it, it falls, and she tries again with another piece of food. She does this over and over again. Paper towel eliminates some of the waste and she can crawl down and get a treat later of she wants.
