What sort of hay for foraging toys?

I've read some sites about making your own foraging toys and they mention stuffing the toys with hay. Does anyone know what sort of hay I should use? I have Timothy hay that I feed to my rabbits but if Alfalfa is better for birds I can get that easily enough as well.

Thanks, it does help. I did a search for just hay and nothing came up. I probably should have been more specific.
