Every now and again I'll end up with a wild bird in need. This is because either:
A.
People find wild birds that need help, and then think "She has birds, she'll know what to do!"
B.
I find a bird, and instinctively want to help it.
Quite often people don't know where they can get help with wild bird rescues, so I thought it would be a good idea for us to share information to create a list of places we know we can get help for wild birds.
Keep in mind, some organisations categorise some species as vermin and will euthanize.
So if you know of any individuals or networks of individuals that won't discriminate (maybe on Facebook) share the details here!
Ultimately I believe parrot owners are more likely to sympathise with wild birds in need, and are potentially more likely to want to help rather than walk on by. I know that my first point of call would be this wonderful community if I wanted bird help or advice, so anything we can do to speed up finding the nearest professional / experienced wild bird rescuer would be helpful.
Please, if you know of somewhere that 'fits the bill' (bad pun), please take a few moments to list the following to save a life...
Country
State / Province
City / Town
Name of individual / organisation
Contact details
Any notes about what they do
Thank-you
