We heat with a pellet stove now but thinking of getting a new woodburner... are they safe for birds?

Presently have six Greenwing Macaw (17 yo), Red Fronted Macaw (12 yo), Red Lored Amazon (17 y.o.), Lilac Crowned Amazon (about 43 y.o.) and a Congo African Grey (11 y.o.)
Panama Amazon (1 Y.O.)
If they ventilate properly and the room doesn't fill up with smoke.

Ventilation is key, for you and the birds, and if your birds are allowed out of cage time, them being trained to know, "Hot - hurt a birdie! Don't touch!" Definitely mention your birds to whomever you are buying the stove from, or whomever is installing it.
