A yellow nape is a supspecies of the yellow crowned amazon, therefore those of abnormal taxonomy will look like the main species, and vice versa depending on mutations(weather from interbreeding or hybridization)
Most of the yellow napes that look like Sam are that way because people inbreed them, sometimes without knowing they are nestmates and not just bonded mates, sometimes people do so without care, and the result is a yellow nape that looks just like a yellow crowned

Mondo's parents, perhaps change it over to a YC too? :)

Beak color is how Mondo is a YN, Bone colored, YC & DYH have a lighter colored beak?
Mondo also has no yellow on his back like Sammy seems to have, just a bit of yellow on the nape.

well if what i know is right, (which everything said i already knew, and was correct)
i know there all sub spieces of the yc. BUT however i study a tremendious amounts on orignal ansestors of parrots. how isolation of one breed with another creates a new one. resulting in "sub" spicies.

like gold cap conure, are belives to be the line tracking of suns and jendays.
interbreeding the 2 will result in healthy offspring,

same with the yellow zons. inter breeding the 3 is safe. although kinda dumb. lol
the mondo pic is why i questined it. and yc have dark beaks and feet, dyh have
horn colored beak and feet. yellow napes are black too.
personally i belive the 3 are so simular, that there acually one spices, givin an exeption to the dyh horn colored beak and feet. what i have realized on diffrences of yn and yc are lighter tones of green, and yellow is more washed out..
but this wasn the first time iv seen pics of yellow napes with yellow crowns.

you guys are right, it is inter breed, mondo is prolly a yn dominate, but splits yc.
i belive sammy is full yc blood lol looks like a dyh with a darker beak and less yellow. same eye color. same attitude.

i like the yellow crape amazon.

because when i see breeding pairs of them, its always paired up with a dyh or yn.
never another yc lol
