I swear, no matter what I do, I always fall in love with a lovebird...

On Tuesday of this week I was backing out of my drive way to head to work, when I heard a familiar chirp (like one of my lovebirds was outside). I pulled over and just started looking around and out of the corner of my eye, I see a little orange and green head pop up.

it was a little lovebird :D

So I took her inside and shoved her in a carry cage that I have and went to work.

It's been 3 days now since having her and I made a promise NOT to keep her.
(I've been in touch with a Senegal breeder about getting a baby in the next few months)

But how can you resist this bird when she's been out in the wild for 2 weeks (I asked around the neighbourhood) and currently sitting on your arm soaking herself in your glass of water :)?!

I must resist the lovebird temptation...

I believe the bird (pet) chooses you. We've all had similar things happen to us. 10 years ago I wanted a collie. My husband found a dog ran over on the highway, we vetted her & kept her. At the time I was disappointed, now 10 years later I am faced w/loosing her & can't imagine my life w/o her. She has filled all the holes that I didn't know we had. Keep her, she's a gift.

I agree ^. :D It's so sweet that you got such a great gift and a tame one at that. :) I think you should keep him/her. :)

I completely forgot to post photos! My fault.

She is so cute, but a little devil bird, so definitely a female lovie. VERY cage protective, eats seeds :)() but just is so cute.

I am going to be keeping her for a few weeks (I have posted on Parrot911, Parrot Locate I think it's called, 5 local vet clinics here and about a dozen flyers I've printed) so if no one claims her, I will see how well she's settling in and MIGHT consider keeping her.

The day I found her:

I am looking forward to seeing her tonight :D

I'm going to lock up Loto ('Zon) for a few hours in her carry cage (she's perch trained) and keep my two on their play stand in the living room and just let the little girl do what she wants.

Any name ideas?

So far I like:

Zoey (I was saving this for my Senegal haha)

I really like Freckles, I have freckles, lol! So your keeping her? :D Seriousely, if you don't just send her my way. Just buy her a plane ticket to the San Diego airport and i'll pick her up there, lol! I had 2 Love Birds but my well i'd rather not say but some stupid person left them out in the sun and they passed, one passed in my hands. :( They are just the cutest! I also like Jade and Paris, 2 shades of green. :D

Lovebirds are adorable when they're tamed! If no one claims her, you should try to keep her. She found you like merlin's mom says. Two of my Parakeets were found outside in the winter time. They were cold and starving to death, skin and bones, and I found them together. I didn't want Parakeets again, tons of people tried to give Parakeets to me for years but we kept them. They ate non stop for a week and slept a lot. Started singing a week later. My cats were rescued from outside, one was very sick and one was a starving baby. Being allergic to cats and never liked cats, they stole my heart. Things happen for a reason and they come to you cause they know they can depend on you for the care they need. :)

As I always say,,,,our lovebird owns the house and she doesn't even make the payments.....LOL
Freckles is a cute name...that one made me smile....good luck.

Well I still haven't heard from anyone who may be missing their lovebird...

I unfortunately am not keeping her :( It's way to chaotic for my likings having 3 lovebirds AND an amazon.

Loto ('zon) already bit now named, Zoey, and made the soft folds of her mouth bleed. I cleaned it up and it's very minor, and it's not stopping her from eating or drinking.

Skittles (my elder lovie) was bit by Zoey, and has a bruised beak. Not to mention, Marley and Zoey just beak every chance they get and argue.

It is too much going on at once...

I have someone who is interested in adopting her, so once I find out more about his life and how he treats his current lovie, she may go to him.
