parrot age

Hello everyone, I recently purchased a Double Yellow-Headed Amazon parrot. The bird has a leg band, but it doesn't mention the birth year—only some codes. Can anyone help me estimate the approximate age of the parrot? The breeder told me that he is 18 months old, but I'm not sure.
