I have posted twice recently about Pacho my red lored amazon. She had started plucking her feathers and I have taken her into the vet twice.
The vet only found 2 things wrong. She was very overweight and had some bacterial infection (human bacteria).
Both of these issues have been successfully treated.
The change I have noticed in her behavior is remarkable. She has regained an interest in grooming her cage mate, something I have not seen much of lately And she has been playing with TOYS.
I really can’t remember the last time I saw her show any interest in play. She does not play all the time but when she does she really goes at it, very energetic. I am sure she feels much better now.
Just wanted to share and update Pacho’s condition.
Her feathers still look bad and she is still pulling out down feathers but it’s just 4 or 5 a day. I hope she gets over that soon.
