I take Chichi with me on outings all the time. He has been everywhere with me. We go all kinds of places. Tomorrow we are spending a day with some friends. And they just adore him. We have a lil house budgie cage. He fits in there. Has food and water dishes a perch and a toy. For the day would it be ok to put him in there for a lil bit if I get tired of him hanging on me while we're there? Or will I traumatized him by putting him in a tiny cage? I don't intend to leave it closed. He will be able to climb on it I just know I won't want him hanging all over me all day.

And he was so cute today!!

No, he won't be traumatized. I just moved from WA to FL and had all my birds in much smaller cages then they were used to on the drive, and that was a week. Unless they are all plotting against me, they're just fine! The socialization will be awesome, I really wish I knew people here to get Squirrel out and about. But first I need him to settle in with me. ChiChi is very cute!

Well we swing by there quite often and they swing by here. They are like parents to us. But tomorrow is our first day/dinner invite. So it will be a longer than an hour or two. Just wanted to be sure. And Ty. :) I'm pregnant and he is always sitting on my belly now! I guess it's a cool place to be these days! Instead of my shoulder he rides the top of it sometimes lol.

That made me giggle, picturing him riding around on top of your tummy. :p When are you due? ChiChi will have a bond with your child already!

As long as he seems fine, a small travel cage is quite ok. The new places are plenty of mental stimulation. When we moved, all three birds were in tiny cages for a significant fraction of 48 hours. That said, the tiel got the largest as he seems to be claustrophobic and freaked out in the small bird carrier we had for him!

I'm sure the smaller cage will be fine, especially if you're going to leave it open. :]
Ha, those pictures are so cute. The first one looks like he's plotting an evil plan!
