Ive had 2 green cheek conures for about 4 years now. One of my birds is named Chavo and he’s a very pretty bird but he’s really aggressive.
If anyone is around his cage he’ll try biting them through the bars. If I open the cage he fluffs up and tries to bite me. It’s been so long and I’ve been slowly working with him to not seem aggressive or scare him in any way and i have no idea why he’s like this. I can now give him treats and be around without him chasing me to bite me. But if I try to offer him to step up or interact with me he just bites me or gives aggressive body language. And the thing is it seems like he’s interested. He likes to come out of his cage and wherever I am he likes to be around but if I try to bond with him in any way it’s helpless.
Now his girlfriend has learned the same behavior and she bites now too. She used to be just a little skittish but now she’s picked up the same aggressive behavior. Please if you have any idea of what I should do any help would be appreciated. I just want to tame them
