Orange Winged Amazon
Our Yellow Lab use to be my trusted friend. After a year of being given treats by our Amazon, our Lab is now the bird's loyal minion. I come out of the bathroom, and there is the king bird walking through the kitchen with his slave dog trailing behind headed towards the garage. Who knew ZuPreem pellets and peanuts could have such an effect on a dog? I must have given the dog too few Milkbones.

For our Great Dane, the Amazon is her constant tormentor. The bird talks, the Dane barks. The Dane barks, the bird barks. The bird barks, the Dane howls. Just try shutting that duo up. Since the Dane avoids the bird, I'm running to different rooms to shut the two of them up.

I've only had this 15 year old Amazon for a year, what's next? Jokes on me, my mother must have known I would be stuck with her Evil Green Chicken someday.

Hahahahaha, you paint a wonderfull picture. Thank you!

Awel, labradors are bred to eat themselves to death given the opportunity - so no surprise there ;)

Wish I had my phone with me 30 minutes ago. There is the bird,on his perch on his open door with the dog's wide open mouth six inches below....catching almond crumbs the bird was dropping.

And what kind of "Evil Green Chicken" are you blessed with?? :D

He's an Orange Winged Amazon, but I'm just guessing on the "he" part. He was my mother's till her dementia got bad and I couldn't stand the condition his cage was in. The age of fifteen is my best guess. After I visited all the vets in town, the first visit I found was in 2003 and I think my mother was the first owner.

I'll have to post a video I have somewhere. In it the Great Dane stops in front of the cage and barks at the bird. Next, you hear the bird, " bark, bark, grrrrr, bark, bark, grrrrr". The 165lb Dane slinks away.
