Albie - Pineapple Green Cheek Conure - Hatch date 14 Dec 2019 - Gotcha date - 4 March 2020
Albie was gross last night. He went under the sofa and found.... Well... I don't know what it was he found but he was happily eating away at it. Maybe a lost chip/French fry from a few nights ago? It was very dry and crunchy and just gross.

He also got super possessive over what ever it was. Each time I tried to get it off him he lunged, he head butted me, he refused to let go of what ever it was.

He is strong for a 75g bird. Like really strong, he absolutely refused to let go. I ended up having to offer a trade. Sunflower seed did not work. It had to be a banana chip.

The offending bit of I don't know what is now in the bin.

Note to self... Clean under the sofa...

Do any of your birds mysteriously find random bits of food?

Hahaha, roo funny! (And really cute) I guess I'm fortunate that mine are too big to fit under the couch, 'cuz lord knows what they might find. lol!

LOL, a 'gold' miner!

We dont encourage Salty to be on the floor, we have area rugs and there is always some bit of stuff there on the floor, not to mention wires.

Ooooh scary. Thankfully this is not an issue I've had so far. (But with parrots one never knows!) I'm glad he was okay and hope he continues so!

LOL they will usually turn up something from off the floor.

I have that issue with my very brave Lovebird and now his partner in crime who has gained Confidence and courage over last year!

Lmao! 2 things in this world Alex would be able to find NO MATTER WHAT: spray millet, and books. When he was younger I had to lock my books up or he would reduce them to confetti!!

He's not normally allowed on the floor as I'm scared of not seeing him and stepping on him and it's one of his time out spots... Although now he's finding stuff I may need to rethink his time out place. Still love the bitey but though

Floors and Parrots have been a problematic match for likely ever! Scavenging is a build in activity for most all Parrots and Birds in general. Mrs. Boats is a neat freak and the floors are regularly or better stated, on-going clean-up. Yet, our free-roaming/flying (not recommended) Amazon will find something to catch his interest. But normally, he is busying hiding his 'stuff' in different places or moving them between locations. It can make for an interest period of time as he busies himself.

Since he has several source of food available, he rarely goes looking for food, but, if found, he would likely avoid it because HRH is so very spoiled.
