Green feathers everywhere. Well Bundii has lost her first green feather for this moult. She has. Even losing white fluffy feathers (we call them spiders in this house - cause they look like spiders) for the past couple of weeks but last night so lost one of her green wing feathers. I must admit that I am not looking forward to feather all through the house and having to vacuum every day but I guess it is just part of having a fid.

Although she is going to stay with Grandma next week so maybe I will get out of some of the vacuuming.

Oh it's such fun, isn't it? And those wicked little spiders stick to things and won't brush off carpet or clothing: you have to pick them individually. Grrrrr!

I know Trish. I try to tell Bundii to leave them in her cage but she *must* preen whilst outside of the cage. I think she *loves* just watching me clean them all up. It is just like when I read out the stories from Parrot Forums and she looks at me like she is interested and then at the last sec just turns away as though I am boring the hell out of her. The joys of parrots.

Nimbus is moulting too, and whatever she actually does moult in her cage she beats it all out with her flying practise

Got 5 birds moulting at the moment, driving everyone at home insane

I just pulled out some stuffs the other day to clean behind it and it was feather galore....and we vaccum daily....

Mikey I know this feeling. My boss thinks I am crazy for vacuuming daily but it my only way of keeping up - between feathers, seeds, others food, toy parts - it is a never ending cycle.

And if you *don't* vacuum daily, you get nasty little cockroaches rummaging about in the crevices. We haven't had a mouse yet, but let's see what winter might bring...

OMG, don't remind me of the mice coming in the house....I had to deal with that when I used to live out in the country side. I was getting dog food out of the bag so I grab on the handle of the scoop without even looking in the bag and here's two mice sitting on the scoop looking at me when I lift it out of the bag....#$&&$%&#% I screamed and the mice flee and I threw back the scoop then IF I remember right my Sasha (RIP) husky got them, she was a mouser....

ROTFL! Not laughin' at you, Mikey - laughin' with you! I can just picture you and two dear little mice eying each other off.

We used to breed mice and so they don't present much of a challenge to me in the wild state - except for when Dark Mouse, the *stinker*, got in and had his evil way with my maiden girls and they all had half-wild babies. We had a mouse plague a few years ago and I remember being woken up by squeaking. I turned on the light and there were about five baby wild mice *playing* in the middle of the kitchen floor! They chased each other around and jumped and did backflips, all the time squeaking like so many giggling little kids. It was gorgeous! I eventually caught them all in my humane trap and moved them to a new address (ie. the drain alongside the paddock). I assume they've all had long lives and many babies by now. I miss our mice. They were the funniest pets I've ever had!

They just caught me off guard....I used to have mice for pets when I was young....I caught a baby one in my bird room at that time and I released it way down the road away from the house. I was breeding at that time and mice is detrimental to baby birds so I had to set traps out everywhere. Including letting my mouser dog roam about. She catch them good.
