ANTS

As the title implies I found ants in my vegetable dish (indoor cage by sliding door). The dish was put out around 6:30 in the morning I'm by 9:00 I looked and I found ants. Mind you this time around I put egg food in with the vegetables because I noticed that one of the birds has pre molt. Any suggestions for getting rid of them without harming the birds?

I live in Brisbane, Australia, where the ants are virtually bulletproof, and they find my lorikeet’s nectar mix absolutely irresistible. I’ve tried EVERYTHING and what’s worked best for me is canola oil sprayed onto the legs of my bird cages. It’s too slippery for the ants to be able to get a grip. No worries about toxicity and works a treat!
