Parrots
I don't have a parrot yet but I want to get one and learn about them first
Took the "which bird is right for you" quiz for fun

The quiz should not be making such irresponsible recommendations!

Any time I’ve asked someone for their parrot experience and they respond “I have a cockatoo”, my respect becomes infinite, lol. My difficultly ranking, which may be faulty, is toos > macaws > hot three zons > greys > anything else, haha.

What do you mean crazy? She is our first bird and the sweetest girl ever. Kalua the Blue and Gold is a 20 year old rehome, we have had for 3 months. He loves my wife, but with everything in him he wants to truly do me bodily harm.

I think I’ve taken this quiz and got something I’d never want to have to handle too! Oh well, I hope no one takes these too seriously.

Oh gosh, I didn’t see the part about the macaw, sorry for the laugh react! That’s rough. Our yellow nape seems to like me but also tries to take a pound of flesh every time I try to handle her. I know it’s me, but gosh darn, it’s so hard to figure out what it is about me that’s setting her off - other than the fact that I am nervous about the next bite, haha.

Cockatoos are indeed breathtaking birds but my experience having one decades ago was very frustrating. Casper was a hand raised baby Goffin that loved physical contact so much that he was ONLY happy when I was giving him a full body massage. If I dared to stop, Casper would scream and bite and chase me around the house. It was not fun at all!

I just took the test, and it picked the one species I don't have, or plan to have...lol
Nothing at all wrong with Quakers, I've just never even looked for one.

Maybe it should be relabeled as an opposites test…haha!

LOL, seems like it! I was expecting to get a 'Too with my choices. I put lots of noise is fine as well as lots of mess. Basically every answer that matched with Charley, our 'Too.

I took it again, and I got the same result haha!

I have to agree, if I could find a reputable breeder whose birds had regular vet care, I’d absolutely get another cockatiel.

Our first tiel the vet suspected was inbred or had genetic issues, he was always small and frequently had abnormal blood work. I was afraid to get another one after he passed unexpectedly.

I actually looove cockatiels. I consider them the smallest of the 'toos in terms of personality but without the same capacity for destruction
