Hello everyone,

I am thinking of maybe getting an aviary for my birds. I have planned this many times but end up changing my mind.

What are the downsides? Benefits? Do's and don'ts?

Of course I'll bring them in if the weather is really bad, but I plan on keeping them out whenever possible.

Thanks in advance,

Anè

Your geographical location will not help you as your combination of creatures that would attempt to enter the structure could eat your parrots. Providing large shaded areas that is available all day is as important as well. And, remember to include a double door entry to limit you're parrots getting out on their own.

We don't have a lot of prey animals here in my city that can break in. We have seen a mongoose once a few years ago, but that's it. There may be some snakes, but the last time we saw one was 3 years ago.

Cats are a possibility, though.
