Hello everyone,
the Harness arrived today! Jasper isn't afraid of it, went right up with trying to open the box, then ran away with the harness :D
It's a good thing he's not afraid of it (a step ahead, I guess) but he did stick his own head through the head loop/hole and I had to get him out of it, but all in all he seems to love it (not in it... yet)

good he's not afraid of it. this is something I have been working with on my YNA.
Persistence and work at his pace not yours. remember there is no rush.
texsize

That's great! Try not to make it TOO much of a toy, or he'll nibble on it while he's wearing it, and try to play with it while you're putting it on :D

Thats wonderful hope he enjoys the training too and that it doesnt phase him ...good luck with the harness training you snd Jasper are iff to a Great start :)

I think the main thing was cause its new (he loves to get his beak into everything new) and he seems fine with me getting him used to it (putting it near him, on him - like it touching his back, ect) he was getting treats for being near it, ect, and I was trying to make it too much of a toy :D
Not sure how well that worked out though
But I'm super happy he's not scared of it (considering hes never seen a harness before)
Thanks everyone for the tips :)

Yes, and I want to take him to work with me, however the place used to be a warehouse (so massive roller door, and huge open spaces with 8m + ceiling) and I'd probably never be able to get him down

Today, I was able to get Jasper to put his head through the aviator head loop/hole by himself, and leave it on him for about a minute before he started playing with it (and wanting it off). Of course plenty of treats :)

Glad its working out for you! We are struggling with ours not freaking out over the harness. I've resorted now to just hanging it off the cage top so its always in view. Baby steps i guess ...

I'm sure you'll get there at your own bird's pace :D :D

The head loop has been mastered! :D
All I have to do is open it enough for Jasper to put his head through :D
Now just to work on the wings...
