Maybe I'm the last one getting in on this product, but I'd never seen one before today when I went into Petsmart for a couple things:

All Living Things® Wire Bar & Grate Cleaning Brush | Brushes & Scrubbers | PetSmart

It was in the "small animal" (rodents) department, not the bird department. This thing is awesome! Makes cleaning super stuck on gunk between the bars and on the grate SO much easier (I just cleaned the cage this morning, but was so excited, I had to try it out right away;)). I bet when I use it in conjunction with the steam cleaner, Kiwi will have a sparkling cage:D Just had to share in case anyone else might not have ever heard of this before either.

Thanks April! I will be getting one of these tonight when I go get the stick/perch to train with.

I'm sure this will come in handy now that I will have 2 cages to clean!

What steam cleaner do you have?

Wow, sounds like a great find April :). ..and being excited to use it, when can you come over and do my cages?? LOL :D

I snagged the last one at the PetSmart in Beaverton:54: but I think you live across the river, so hopefully your store will have them in stock!

Haha ive seen them because ive had guinea pigs and ferrets. Usually found in the small animal section rather than the bird section.

I bought a steam machine. It was delivered yesterday. Cage already clean in no time this morning. Sparkling. I am sold.

Gotta run steam other things in the houses lol. This thing is amazing

Yep, kindred neat freak here, and I have that dandy little tool. I also have and use my steam cleaner. Couldn't do deep-clean Sundays without it. I also got my steamer for the birds' cages but use it for my oven, shower, car, hard-water deposits around my sink fixtures, tons of stuff!

Let us know how it works when someone gets it.
I just use a paper towel damp with water or vinegar to scrap off the poo. It pops right off. Now granted, I only have ONE bird cage and I scrape the spots I see on the bottom every other day (I change the bottom everyday but scrape what I see on the bars every other).
I have finally set up the toys, perches, ladders in a way now that things do not get pooped on for the most part. That was trial and error :P

What do you normally use to clean the cages? Water, Vinegar and lemon? or something else?
