That is a FANTASTIC looking cage you ordered from Kings!!!

And only $60 more! I had no idea that the other one would be so flimsy. The latches are a joke. They're a rod, made of the same material that you have to manipulate through some loops to latch the door. And the side doors are spring loaded and one of them doesn't close on it's own.

YIKES!!! I would have expected much more from a PH cage!

Bruce, I want to thank you for putting the cage together last night and ordering the Kings Cage. I know you worked all day and were tired. I am glad we found out about the cage in time to order a better one Maybe the new cage will get here in time or relatively soon.....and anticipating a loooong drive to pick up Cosmo.... Nope, just ordered it last night. Hopefully early next week. Would LOVE to get it by Friday, but I wasn't willing to pay an extra $99 for 2 day shipping, so probably won't happen.

So here's the (almost) finished cage for Cosmo. It still needs a bird.

This is the new King's Cage that we ordered Monday night. It arrived this morning! Thank you FedEx!

And thank you Simba for supervising another cage construction project.

If all goes according to plan, the cage should be occupied at around 6 p.m. EST.

EDIT: Scratch that. Atlanta is backed up, so she can't ship him until Monday. Unfortunately, we'll most likely be snowed in on Monday. Maybe next Friday...what a pain in the butt.

Good News finally!!!! Cosmo the blue quaker is on his way here!!!! The rescue Betty the cockatiel is getting her last test completed and if the results are clean she'll be here in a week!!! It sure has been a loooong wait!!!

Finally home with Cosmo! What a loooong day! All settled in and asleep for the night. Took some pix....he looks tubby but sure is adorable! He is blue but in dim light and cell camera...looks greenish....

Well....he's done the birdy things.....can tell he's nibbled on his food and of course pooped He's tasting everything but no pressure on the bites..... Yells when I leave the room....sweet bird.... really healthy! Curious! Knows where the latch on the cage is.....good thing we changed cages, he's worked at all the doors.

He seems to have a deep voice. The breeder clipped his wings, so he seems unsure of himself.... but it is cute watching him stretch trying to walk around/accross his bowls and get to those fascinating toys! He'll reach a toy and look at the other side of the cage and get interested in that one....lol He's a joy to watch! He's been handled a bit from the breeder....his reactions are toward people....

It is amazing to see the difference in a birdy that has been raised correctly by the breeder compared to the rescues..... Cosmo is great! I'm in loooove..... <3 <3 <3 He is stepping up and mumbling all ready! He has a happy purr type talk also.... Cosmo napped on my shoulder yesterday.... Saturday I have an appt to see a play gym.....and I have a toy list starting.....lol
