Ok, ok, he's not a conure, but he was obtained FOR my conure, so I'm not totally off-base, right? :54:
After the dog-fiasco, I put myself up to two options: Find Midori a new, dog-free home (I'm a trainer and a full-time dog enthusiast. My dogs are literally my life, and they came first, so it's not an option in my mind to get rid of them or keep them out of my computer room, where Midori lives.) or find her a companion bird, to make her cage time bearable.
I put a post up for Midori and got several replies, one of which was a way better situation..
But she was pushing under my hand for loves while I was trying to reply, and I just couldn't do it.
So meet Jack:
Jack (Daniels, lol. Midori is a melon liquor, so I needed another alcohol brand.
) is a bit older, obviously, is somewhat hand-tame, and was cohabitating with another keet, a Sun and a 'tiel. Weird arrangement, but it at least meant he was used to being around bigger birds, and that he probably doesn't have any diseases, since that aviary cage had been living together for a while.)
He's doing is quarantine atm, but I've been letting them spend some of the day in eyeshot of each other.
I've been giving him his own little crumblings pellets, and I've also been sifting off Midori's crumbs into another dish, which he seems to prefer, so I'm thinking once they're cage mates he'll clean up her crumbs!
And of course, I'm prepared to accept if they can't live together, and ready to get him his own-size cagemate if need be.
