2 green cheeked conures and 1 black capped
so, i have 3 conures ( 2 green cheeks and 1 black capped ), and recently, my baby boy ( the black capped ) and my younger girl ( one of my green cheeks ) have been starting to sleep on the bottom of their cages and moving around a little bit at night. everyone has sufficient perches, cozies to cuddle up to and safe platforms to stand on, yet every time i uncover them all in the morning, these goobers scatter up from their newspaper bedding.
everyone acts and seems happy and healthy ( they eat, drink, preen, etc.), so im struggling to figure out what they’re doing.
any advice / theories would be greatly appreciated!!
(by the way, these two are a couple ❤️)

I would not worry about it.

BTW, one of the best indicators of health in parrots is their weight. Regular weighing, after the first big poop in the AM, and keeping track of it, will let you know quickly if something is medically wrong with them.

that’s what my avian vet said :) i have a scale that would work well, i admittedly haven’t been doing it, but i will definitely start! their vet visit wasn’t that long ago, and everyone was healthy and well.
thank you so much!

If your "cozies" are the tent-style ones that they can climb into I would get rid of them before your babies reach puberty or they may get stimulated to nest. You can substitute small stuffed animals if they like snuggling up to them. My budgie Joey loves her stuffies so I keep a couple in the cage with her.

My parrot started sleeping in what I thought was an unsafe location. Perched on the very narrow vertical edge of her food dish. I was/am worried about sores forming and falling. I talked it over with avian vet and did a lot of reading. Starting with a healthy and secure bird. It boils down to a few factors. Comfort and preferences. Bird species not know for sleeping in odd positions will do so. Upside down, side, back, hanging from side of cage or objects to name a few.

They're so cute!
thank you!

i know which ones your talking about, it’s not those at all. they’re these little folds of fluffy fabric the you tie to the side of the cage, and above a perch, so that the birds can lean against them to sleep. also that’s friggen adorable that you use stuffed animals, i love that for joey ❤️

Does Joey like cozy toy in cage? Nameliss like plush toys. But they can't be in, on or near her cage.
