Bella is doing very well right now.
She has finally got to the point that she enjoys taking a shower with me. The first time I tried this she screamed like it was the end of her world.
Now she flappers her wings and really gets into it. It’s like taking a shower with a fan/breeze. The one thing I wonder about is as soon as she gets into the bathroom with me she starts shivering/shaking. Is this normal? It’s not cold. Could she be nervous even though she enjoys it? I try to give her a shower once a week. I think it helps reduce her urge to pick her feathers.

There is a woman on youtube that has a CAG named (of course) Einstein. She calls him her Red Butt Chicken. She put up a compilation of him saying Red but chicken and red but Corn and red butt cleaning. It was so cute I decided to teach this to Bella. After about a week of saying this to her today she started repeating it. This is the first time I have heard her polishing up a word/phrase. Within about 1.5 hours she went for “I think she said…” to clearly saying Red butt chicken.

Bella is still not much of a hands on bird. She only rarely lets me scratch her neck and only sits with me if she wants to eat something I have to eat.
Her feathers are looking pretty good and has been playing with her toys more.
I am at work now and working this weekend but I hope to be able to upload a new photo of her on Sunday (with luck) for all you photo junkies out there.
She is such a joy to have in the house I can’t imagine how I went so long without a CAG. Even if she did not talk I enjoy the noises she can reproduce so perfectly.

Awesome update Wes :D I think the "shivering" thing Ms Bella does,is in anticipation of her showering with Dad ;) Nice to know she really enjoys it. Smokey was never keen on misting,or showers or anything like that. BUT after every bath she did get...first stop was her water bowl for a dunk...no matter how wet I got her

Patiently awaiting for that new picture of her,my friend!

As Jim stated: anticipation of her showering.

In addition, by fluffing her feather, she assures they are lifted and the water penetrates deep and quicker. If she pulled her feathers close to her body, more of the water would flow-off her.

Smart Bird Trick!

Here is a photo I took this morning.

Lighting is not the best so colors are a little off.

She's beautiful!! Great JOB!!!

For those of you who have never seen a P.O.ed CAG here is "the Look"

when they look like that you proceed at your own risk.
She was upset at the camera. I was too close and had been using the flash.
