Hello! Anyone have any recommendations for where I should get a manzanita or java tree stand? I am looking for a deal... and most of the used ones on CL in my area are at least $200!
I dont know how handy you are but maybe you can search online for branches and make your own? I am considering that myself if i ever want to make a stand. Grapewood is pretty inexpensive and i think it looks great with all the twists and perches it offers. They have a few varities of branches and wood. Grapewood
Mind you i have never ordered there and just came across it after i saw your question. There are probably plenty more sites.
If making your own isnt an option, is there any bird fairs in your area or nearby? They might have something for a reasonable price. All these stands just seem so inflated to me! Its a few branches with bolts and screws and they are charging us an arm and a leg for them!
I totally agree! I was at a bird show not long ago and it was really good for ideas and at the same time eye-opening about how easy it would be to make one myself! I suggest looking at some in person if you can and then find the supplies for making one by hand. It wouldn't take more than a couple hours I don't think.
