My wife and I adopted Bingo so long ago our differing memories are hard to ..... reconcile .

We were looking for a proven talker and a tame parrot that would be friendly.
We found the ad for Bingo in the Pennysaver (a free want add given away at laundromats and liquor stores).
This was 1985 so Facebook and craigs list wasn't even thought of.

We can't agree on how much we paid, I thought it was $800, my wife says $1,000. either way it was a lot for that time.
We never knew the reason for the original owner to sell him and we never asked.
Ny wife thinks it's because they were very neat people and didn't like the mess he made.
I think it was because he was beginning to become hormonal and unpredictable.

whatever the reason he became a part of our life and family very quickly.

these are some of the very earliest pictures taken with 35 mm camera and scanned digitally long time ago.

What's really wonderful is that Bingo led the perfect life for a companion parrot. He was adopted very young by a family that loved him and he was with that same family for over 40 years until he passed away in his loving parront's arms. How much more wonderful and perfect can it get?

Oh Wes, what a lovely tribute to Bingo! Every companion parrot deserves to be loved and cherished as much as him, and I hope you will continue to share more pics and memories here 💖
