Bird died of heat stroke

I have only gained the courage to say this after so long, but during the massive heat wave we have a week ago echo, our sweet baby, died of heat stroke.

That day the we had a power outage and could not use the ac. We tried bathing them that worked for a while but echo was getting very stressed still. We took her to the vet as soon as i started noticing she kept rocking her head up and down and tail bobbing.
In her necropsy it was also discovered that she was in the beginning stages of a respiratory infection as well which was why she was more stressed i assume. I feel ashamed of not realizing she was sick.

I am so truly sorry for your loss. Thank you for having the courage to share this sad event as it will be beneficial to others that read it. It also reaffirms that it is important to have a regular health check. You cannot always tell what is going on. No shame. Hope you will stay on the forums and we will hear of a new addition in time when you are ready.

Dont blame yourself this could have happened even if Echo had been on treatment for the infection...you just dont know...it is so hard when we blame ourselves for things outside of our control and we all do it at times but the truth is you did all you could and if Echo has one message for you from Rainbow Bridge it would be to say:Thank you for all the love and care that was spent on her and for the wonderful life she had with you and she would most certainly not want you blaming yourself. She is your Angel now and she will be with you always watching over you and Blessing you all through your life. Fly free Echo and Rest in Peace <3
