Cockatiel- Kalypso
I really like blue crown conures. How loud are they? Are they often compared to a sun conure? Every bird is diffrent but are they likely to get along with other birds i.e Cockatiel?

They can be pretty loud. My female Tootsie is a squawker and can make a lot of noise. The male Rosco is quieter but he can do a lot of "Me too!" squawking when Tootsie is going off and I think he would be much quieter as a solo bird. The both have periods of excitability where they can raise the roof. Not really recommended as an apartment bird from my pair but their squawks are not as far reaching as my Senegal's high pitched squeal when he is calling for me.

The attached video is Tootsie and Rosco going off on one of their fussy moments. Tootsie is the one in the foreground with the tail that is kind of splayed out. The good thing is that the outbursts usually don't last for too long because you can hear how they are overwhelming the microphone in my phone. It can do the same for my ears.

As for getting along, I don't think that they would be outwardly aggressive towards other birds based on my experience. That is not to say that they won't bite and harm another bird if it came too close. But so much of that is individual. Tootsie does not like my Senegal but I don't blame her there. Sidney has attacked her a couple of times and occasionally dive bombs and tries to knock her off her perch (which will get his tail locked right up). Rosco is more curious and he seems like he would like to be friends with Sidney. Sid seems a little more tolerant of Rosco but sometimes Rosco's nature as an "instigator" comes into play and he makes a pecking motion at Sid which is not a good idea. Rosco lived with several other species of birds at the rescue I adopted him from and he seemed to do ok with them. I'm not sure how Tootsie would do in a flock of different birds cause it took her months to warm up to Rosco and finally start some mutual preening.

I would be cautious if thinking to let one interact with your cockatiel. I think an aggressive Blue Crown could do a lot of injury.

OMG I love it. Sorry but I do. My Macaw can get loud but that is so funny. Like they are having a sound off

My tiel was raised with lovebirds(they were close enough to interact through the bars), other tiels, and sun conures. At the vet Kalypso was very intersted in the U2 but of course I didnt let any interaction happen. I would love to have a conure. I really like the Mitred conure(which I find to large and aggresive to have around a tiel), Blue Crown, Green Cheek, Crimson Bellied, and the Patagonian Conure. I just not sure which one would be the best fit for me.

Sassy (b.c.c)can be loud when she calls, funny it doesn't sound anything like the 2 in the video above...but she says lots and lots and lots of words!!! So I have been teaching her to speak instead of yell...for instance she always says..mama...then what are you doing? So I answer her,but if she says mama and then yells I ignore her..so she is learning really quick if she yells it don't get mamas attention, she has an amazing vocabulary and she laughs so human like that I have cried tears laughing with her.soooo funny. Also I have a 6 month old parakeet that insist on staying on sassys cage..they sit about 5 inches apart and sassy has no problem with it. Guess it depends on the bird, biggest downfall with sassy is I am the only human she likes.....meant to add sassy also gets loud when my quaker parrot starts,he will purposely get her and my amazon started,he looks at them, starts growling, then it goes back and forth and they get louder and louder, usually sassy ends up saying to them....why don't you shut up!? Lol
