A healthy, active Parrot with plenty of toys to crew on should rarely, if ever need a beak trim. That said, longer beaks are more common with Companion Parrots that are not activity using their beak. Your Blue & Gold's beak is right at that point where a trim should be considered.

Although far too many individual have a non-professional trim their Parrot's Beak! I Strongly recommend that you have your Avian Medical Professional trim your Parrot's Beak, as their Beak has nerve ends that become very sensitive if too much Beak material is removed. NOTE: Long Beaks can indicate an imbalance in their diet or medical problem and having a Blood test completed should be reviewed with your Avian Medical Professional.
