Today I went to feed my budgies and noticed that my 2 1/2 year old female's cere is turning blue. Why is this?
Is this a trip to the vet?

You can wait for the experts on the forum to chime in but a blue cere means it is a boy. However the cere does look a little crusty.

She's just coming out of breeding condition.

Females have light blue Ceres when not in breeding condition, and brown crusty Ceres when in breeding condition. My female goes through it, nothing to worry about.

My female budgie also goes through that cycle. Nothing to worry about, your birdie is fine :)

Thank you! I feel less worried now.

I had no idea female budgies could have blue ceres. Sorry if I mislead you

No worries!
