- Umbrella Cockatoo- 15? years old..I think?
I "have" a rabbit living in my yard (not a pet, a wild rabbit) who has recently developed a VERY cloudy left eye (like a cataract). I have pictures, but posting is a pain, so I am asking..His other eye looks fine!
1) should I contact a rescue ? *they are closed so I prob will tomorrow either way*
2) How would I know if it was viral or parasitic?
3. This guy lets me get SUPER close and I think it is because he is old and knows me, but I am not certain and definitely worried that his eye may get him killed around the wrong predator. He is still eating and acting normally (mostly) other than allowing me to get close, but again, I think he has been around for at least 2 years and knows me (compared to the others).
I am just worried he won't see predators....I also do put seed on the walk lately (due to temperatures and in an attempt to reduce predatory nest attacks among certain omnivorous birds)...I hope I didn't do this somehow by him scavenging seeds....I know he does..
