Hi everyone! It’s been a minute since I’ve checked in to see how all your feathered friends are doing. It’s been a very busy couple of months. We sold our business, so I’ve been dealing with everything associated with that, and we went on a trip to Hawaii over my little one’s spring break from school.
Button and Ava are as cute as ever, despite the spring hormones. Ava did so well being boarded this time while we were away (we always board the birds with Button’s breeder). It was only her second time, but she was much calmer while we were away, and not angry at us when we brought her home. It was a familiar experience the second time around, and she knew we were coming back for her.
Both birdies are molting like crazy…lots of feather treasures to add to the collection the past few days. I hope you’re all doing well!

Welcome back @nkrbkr, I'm so happy to see you back! Thank you for the update though I must say I'm a little jealous of your trip to Hawaii, hubby and I went there some time last decade and loved it! Looking forward to seeing more pics of your two little sweeties v soon, and maybe some Hawaii pics too

A very content post-bath girl yesterday. She was so cute…dangling upside down for quite some time, with wings spread, while I misted her.

Ava bird took her time before checking out the boing that is hung from her tree stand. It was there for several weeks before she decided to climb on. Now she plays on it daily. It’s great exercise, as she balances while it bounces and swings when she’s playing with her toys.
She’s going to the vet this coming Tuesday. She’s had extra watery poops and drinking a lot of water the last couple of weeks. I’ve been keeping a watchful eye, as it was going back and forth between normal and watery, but now it’s just very watery (with solids). Maybe it’s hormones? Regardless, it’s making me nervous, so we’re getting it checked out. Her weight/appetite/behavior are unchanged, so hopefully it’s nothing to worry about.

We went to the vet this morning to check on what could be causing Ava to have watery poops and drinking so much. Her doctor recommended a gram stain, as well as bloodwork to check her kidneys, so we’re just waiting to hear back on the results. Her physical exam was normal, and weight/appetite are good. She was so happy to come home, and kept rubbing her beak on everything and asking me for scritches.
We were sitting in the waiting room next to a Timneh Grey. She kept saying “ouch?” to her mom, since they were at the vet. Followed up by “going to take a shower?” Such precious creatures.
Fingers crossed for my Ava bird.
