I have had my Red Headed Conure for 23yrs. He has been a good and gentile companion until about a year ago. His beloved bonded Cockatiel died and I replace the Cockatiel with a Pidgeon (don't ask). They immediately bonded. When the Pidgeon started laying eggs, the Conure became very cage aggressive. I could do nothing with him without him drawing blood!
A couple of weeks ago I had floors refinished and put the birds out on the porch for about 4 days. The aggression has completely disappeared. They are back inside in their usual location and all is well.
