Hello everybody, I was wandering if any of you could suggest a non -toxic, safe and disinfecting bird cage cleaner?
I have currently been using the Natures Miracle Bird Cage Cleaner. I like using it since it removes poop very well but the smell is very strong, and it doesn't disinfect. Since birds are super sensitive I thought I'd come ask for some suggestions. I have heard good and bad things about "Poop Off", which is something I considered trying but, people say that has a decently strong smell as well. I thought about getting F10 because I know plenty of people who us it for daily cleansing of the cages. If I would get F10 would I be required to rinse this off of the cage? Ive also heard of people using hot water, lemon, and baking soda. My only issue with making that mix up is that I's only be able to use it the same day. Im looking for something that I wouldn't have to remake daily when I spot clean or change papers.
Thanks in advance and I apologize for this being so long and most likely messy I'm just trying to give you guys an idea of what i'm looking for.
* Also wanted to add that I have 2 Budgies and a Cockatiel.

Plain old Water! Another method is a Stream cleaning unit, which will meet your want for a non-toxic, safe and disinfecting unit. Also, and any time you have bright Sunshine, get the freshly cleaned cage out in it!

for spot cleaning I used either the poop off wipes or I had a poop off bottle with a brush on the end which worked wonders. It does have a bit of a smell though I found it to be a rather pleasant smell. I would then just give a quick wipe of what I cleaned with some hot water after.

Then when I did a main clean I would pour a little F10 into a sink with hot water and let the toys soak for a minute whilst I wiped the cage down with a cloth I would wet in the sink. Then would clean all the perches and toys, let them dry then put it all back in the cage. I'd then spray a tiny bit of F10 at the cage just to make sure it was all clean and disinfected

Good old soapy water then just rinse with water works great for a good clean. Poop off is good for daily use x

Water and fresh lemon juice. Then, set the cage in the hot sun from time to time. I clean cages every day, keeps things easy.

I use F10 already diluted ready to spray with a heckload of kitchen towel, you don't have to rinse it off unless your spraying their food or water bowls, everything else just wait untill it dries... for me f10 seems to be the best one iv used with a non offensive smell

If I dilute the F10 half and half with water would that still work?

I use Aviclean, but not when the bird is on the cage. It works great on old poop. There’s always that one spot you missed...just a warning: if you use any spray cleanersbe sure to mark the bottle with red tape or something else really obvious so you never accidentally mistake it for the water spray bottle used for baths or misting.

There is a f10 you can get in a 1litre bottle already diluted for you, so basically ready to use straight away.
Then the very concentrated one that is smaller (from what i have seen) if you have this one, the instructions of how to dilute are on the bottle (i cant remember how much ml to dilute for a 1l spray bottle as i prefer using the pre mixed as its easier)

Thank you! I'm going to buy some as soon as possible, and I'm glad that you let me know they sell a diluted one because I had no idea!:)
