Cage for my Green Cheeked Conure.

Hi everyone. My brother just moved out of the country and sadly he had to leave his adorable GCC with me for a while. We are planning on getting him a bigger cage to play in until he starts trusting me enough to take him out of his cage.

Is this cage suitable for Conures?

My only concern is that it doesn't have any horizontal cage bars. Will that be an issue?

Also, can you give some tips on how to gain his trust?

Hello Conure2550, that cage is large enough for sure. Just put several sized diameter perches in there. A few long ladders in there hanging from the sides. He'll figure it out
Let him get used to the cage for a couple of days. Gradually get closer to him with your hand inside the cage, over a period of hours, days.... Don't rush it. Treats!
There a loads of threads on here about acquiring your birds trust. Just look around

Just want to add that some of the smaller doors on that cage do not have locks. You may want to get a few clips or something. Just in case your bird is as smart as mine. hehe

I have the same cage as Markmark does for my GCC. At times I don't think that it is big enough. lol.

I have that exact cage for my GCC Dali and she loves it. There is tons of room and its fairly easy to keep clean.
