Cage Paint?

I have two cages that we use when trailering and on the patio. I know they are powder coated but are starting to rust. Is there anything safe that I can paint these cages with, short of repowder coating?

There are a few spots on Jasper's cage where it's worn down to the metal. Can this be fixed as well? Does it need to be?

Katie, I'd only be concerned about those spots if they were rusty and Jasper could get to them.

And yes, I'm sure they could be fixed.
