Helloooo, to anyone who paints figures or models! This is a thread dedicated to painted models, figures, repainted collectibles, custom anything, etc. if you can paint it, and it’s not a canvas or a wall, it’s pretty much acceptable in this thread, haha

Here’s a Good2Grow juice topper I repainted and I’m super proud of!

Glossed him with clear nail polish, and now he’s suuuuuuper glossy looking! Clear nail polish tends to strip thin layers of acrylic paint, so if you plan on doing what I did, keep that in mind

Feel free to share what you’ve painted, and let’s see your work!

These look awesome!

I've been painting up models for the past 2 years. Mostly of the Warhammer variety but I've done a few other things here and there. Here is a small part of the Salamanders army I've put together so far.

Woah! These are incredible! I love the intricacies on them all! I really like the dragon guys, and the skeleton dude (forgive me, I am not familiar with these characters šŸ’”) they look AWESOME! Very clean paint jobs!

Don't worry too much, I don't expect anyone to know about 40k lore. There is a lot of it. The short version is that I'm painting Salamanders, one of the space marine legions. I finished some this month, manly of the heavy variety.

I also painted up some "trash cans" for battletech, because most of my local tabletop club plays it. 3 are painted in joke colors to look like trash cans, 1 is painted in a more serious color scheme if I decide I like the game and collect more.

Those have been my painting projects for this month. But, I did make one of my heavy troops subtly honor a certain yellow naped amazon. Bingo's passing has been nothing short of devastating, so I decided to make a couple small changes to one of my models in the middle of painting him to honor Bingo. He may be gone but he'll never be forgotten.

Awesome stuff, you guys! I love miniatures! I used to paint them years and years ago. Mainly dragons. :)

This is a post I won't share w my daughter. She's a draconian addict. I love do to crafts. So she'll badger me to start this.

Got a few more projects done for July. First is a commission for someone at my local tabletop club. She was quite happy with it and I had a nice time working on something different.

Next, I painted up some Tyranids (space bug) for myself, and these 3 gave me a playable army for my local group. Giving me something else to bring aside from my growing army of green space marines.

Lastly, while working on a squad I'll show off at the end of next month, I also made "vtuber fanart" in the only way I really know how. Getting the face right was tricky and took a fair bit of luck but I got there in the end.

Beautiful. I love looking at other people's craft work.

Thank you! :D
How are Rico, Cricket and baby Gabe doing?

Bingo will never be forgotten.

Another month, another update on my painted projects. Only 2 this time since I've also been trying to tackle a big centerpiece for a painting competition at the end of September.

First is a squad of space marine scouts in Ultramarines colors, since when it comes to painting models to sell, it's best to stick to general, familiar paint schemes. And you can't get more general then the boys in blue.

Second was this squad of Hellblasters for my Salamanders army. Plasma rifle wielding marines who hit pretty hard at long range. I also made a "medic" for the medical training upgrade that they can get in OnePageRules.

Like I said, I'm working on a centerpiece model for my bugs, so that'll be done next month. There is a captain I'm working on for another painting competition, so I should hopefully have 3 cool things to show off at the end of September.

Got quite a lot done for September, and it started off strong with something I had been working on as a side project for over a month. The centerpiece model for my bugs!

I also did some smaller bugs similar to the ones on the base to use as in-game tokens.

Can't stop there so I also finished up a captain for a painting competition.

Last but certainly not least, I finally got around to painting some heavy armored elites for my main army.

Cool STuff! I know someone who used to do Warhammer 40 K. DId amazing stuff. He once did an accidental bad thing. He had just finished painting some new models, and he was going to spray them to protect them. He sprayed them, all right, with PRIMER. Apparently, he cried for a while after ruining those.

October was s bit slower then usual. Only finished 2 things because the latter end of the month was spent building a few different kits and kitbashing models. Anyway, here we go. First is a kill team I put together to sell. My first successful attempt at doing blood splatter effects using some watered down red paint and a toothbrush. They ended up selling in about 2 weeks. One of the fastest ones yet!

And lastly for October, a mini I've been itching to get my hands on since the new sculpt was announced. A named character for my main army. Forgefather Vulkan He'stan.

I've got another kill team primed and ready to go so hopefully I'll be able to finish that at least for November. Only trouble is that the paint scheme I have in mind means painting yellow. A notoriously hard color to paint. So we'll see how that goes.

I skipped a month just because I did not have too much to show. So November and December are gonna be put in one post. Starting off with something that I had been terrified to paint (and still have some artist's block on), a scale model of the M1A2 Abrams.

20251221_175509.webp

That's about as good as I'm gonna get it without stripping the paint and starting all over for a second time.

Though what came out far better were some heavy anti-armor units for my main army. Not to mention the best picture I've taken to date.

They're not the only ones being added to the growing ranks. I also have 3 characters. First is a justiciar, a chaplain in training. As well as an ancient (pretty much a banner carrier).

20251230_172435.webp

Last and certainly not least, the primarch of the Salamanders... though not exactly in a very lore-friendly form. Primarch Vulkan.

20251230_172259.webp

Still working on that kill team, but as you can tell, I got a little distracted. They're alone on my painting table at the moment so they're getting finished next month one way or another.

Some awesome stuff! Can't wait to see more!

Came down with a cold this month, but despite losing a week to that, I got quite a bit finished. A solid start to the new year! First, the kill team I mentioned before. Painted them up to look like yellow jackets. They managed to sell pretty fast too.
20260108_163111.webp

Next is a kitbashed character I've had waiting for a paint job for a while. I've always thought the space marine bikes were pretty cool, so I'm glad I got to finish this one.
20260118_180437.webp

Last one I finished on the 31st! This was a Christmas gift and I did a lot of prep work in order to do what I had in mind with them. Anyway, here they are with some very fancy free-handed shields.

And that's it for this month! Currently, I'm not too sure what I'll be tackling next, but the most likely thing that I want to work on is some Battletech mechs since I finally got a lance I've had my eyes on for a while.

@Khan - Honestly , not bad but a steadier hand is needed to get super precise color changes. For objects and getting armor etc looking totally realisitc, I suggest reading and studying a lot of model railroad mags, websites and boards. THose guys know tons of tricks to make stuff look super realistic on very small models with loads of details. I used to be in that hobby for a long time and the level of detailing and life like painting they can achieve is insane! Everyting from the rationale as to WHY and HOW something would look used, worn or dirty to techniques for getting that look down perfectly. THere is even a career path for those who can excell at models and painting them. I know a guy who made a whole, exceptionally well paid career at modeling NYC subway cars and platforms! No kidding. Good Luck!
