Can your parrot WHISTLE? Mine can't!

I am in awe of how well my Perjo whistles, she started by mimicking the only two whistles I did with her while visiting her at breeders store. She quickly learned the art of whistling on her own. Now she can very quickly mimic any whistle I throw her way and she even create 3-4 different variations of it for her own enjoyment.

EG: the wolf whistle, she'll do it 5-6 different ways. Standard, in hi or low, then she'll drag out the first part or do the first part 3-4 times then do the last part. Or she'll do the first part standard and drag out the last part for like 4 seconds. Then she'll do it the wolf whistle in her duck voice.

She can whistle very slow, very soft like a whisper and then whistle at a 100mph.

OOOOOH, well, I'll try not to be a hater!!!!! (kiddin'!)

My darling RB has two volumes... loud and blood-curdling.

WHAT is a duck voice???????? This I must find out.

That's so cute!!!! He's trying though but that makes him so unique too! He's gorgeous.

Thanks, Taw.
I hadn't really thought of it that way until hearing from you all here. It really touches me. Poor ol' Rickeybird couldn't whistle but he did his best. Rit-roo!
Thanks for the compliments!

Today's morning whistling routine, atop her cage.

I just left phone face down, it's easier to capture audio that way.

And I as play this back to listen to, Perjo starts up another routine.

I played it three times for Buzz and he went to town whistling and mumbling new words. Thanks!

That is absolutely beautiful. Just amazing. And the quack is hysterically funny. I played it for the RB and he stood absolutely still, until it was finished, and then let loose a bunch of rit-roos, rit-rit-rits, and ree-ooo-rits. I guess he thinks he answered whistles with whistles.
I like the idea of leaving the phone on, face down. I may try that.

It's the only way I've found to record audio and be able to share it online. There are audio recorders on all smart phones, but there is no way to share the format on these forums.

I use Photobucket... I upload videos and photos there and then it gives you a selection of ways to display here. The problem with THAT is just that the RB tends to get quiet when I'm holding the phone up at him!

I'm lucky here! Mine whistles everything from little songs to imitating other bird calls. So much fun when she's at her peak in the morning! Our favorite is when we set her up on the shower rod in the morning and begin our showers for the day. Without fail she waits till the water is on and your cloths are off. Then she starts to give out a classic wolf whistle!! Hilarious!

I played that for the Rickeybird, who gave back a loud RIT-ROO and fluffed up proudly. Clueless!

That is downright amazing! It's as if this is a whole language of whistles! Well, except for that duck thing, but it makes a great finale!
