car travel

i always suggest in a carrier, but i allow a few of my birds to ride free in the car with me. The carrier is much safer as it protects them in potetinal accidents and so on:).

I have a small little pet carrier I picked up for about $15 at Walmart and its perfect. I've got a towel at the bottom so it's not slippery. Nothing fancy.

Small cage or carrier.

If I'm not driving, bird might be out of the cage/carrier. If I'm driving, bird is inside one!

We use a pak o bird, with the seatbelt threaded through the loops on the back to stop it moving around. I find it's good, particularly on long car trips because there are no metal cage sides rattling the whole time we're driving.

Where can you find those awesome looking carriers, coral?

Update: Never mind, I found the other thread that li ms it! Haha

We have a acrylic carrier we use for Mac right now but it is starting to show it's age so working on another idea.

Mac at the Grand Canyon.

The carrier before we added the stainless mesh for more airflow. We found the carrier got a bit warm for Mac.

Was going to put a short video in but can't figure that part out right now, maybe later.
