I'm considering buying a house built in the late 1970's with a large backyard cedar deck. Would it be harmful to my Blue Front dear Amazon parrot? Is there any coating or anything I should put on the wood? Thank you for your feedback!

TOXIC WOOD
Apricot (pits, leaves, bark)
Apple (seeds, leaves, bark)
Avocado (pits, leaves, fruit, stems)
Cedar
Cherry (pits, leaves, bark)
Horse Chestnut
Holly (leaves, berries)
Nectarine (pits, leaves, bark)
Oak (acorns)
Peach (pits, leaves, bark)
Pear (leaves, seeds, bark)
Plum (leaves, pits, bark)
Prune (leaves, pits, bark)
Red Maple

Great Post by John!

Unless you are letting your BFA walk around on the deck railing /decking it should not be a problem. If your plan is allow your BFA outside, you should use a cage to provide protection and separation from the elements.

FYI: Depending on the condition of the cider, at most a clear oil stain, if that! Most cider applications do not require the addition of clear cider oil.

Welcome to the forums, thanks for being cautions! As others have suggested, the mere presence of cedar in that fashion ought to be fine.
