Saw this article about a type of prehistoric bird I'd never heard of before. Apparently with new technological advances in re-creating 3D images of the skulls has offered some new insights into beak evolution. Thought I would share:)

On an unrelated note, I am certainly glad birds have lost their TEETH through the corse of evolution. Can you imagine how horrific it would be if parrots had razor sharp teeth:eek:

Great story, thanks for posting, April.

I am amazed at the scientific deductions that can be made by studying fossils. The earth has fostered some fascinating life forms!

Lovin' this, absolutely, and thank you. Good glory, yes, I'm glad they don't havwe teeth!

On the other hand, I don't think keeping parrots would be nearly as attractive to the average person. It would truly be for only the completely insane...I mean dedicated... :chomp:

Yup, that would be me with fewer fingers! :D

Thanks Kiwi's mom! Good read and even more to add to the ever increasing knowledge bank of bird information!

Yikes! Birb beaks are bad enough, glad there's no teeth involved anymore hahah. Cool find, thanks for sharing.
