Compatible with a Green Cheek?

Hello everyone! My name is Addler, and I am interested in getting my own Conure. I have had parakeets, finches, and a cockatiel when I was younger, and now I'm interested in getting a more intelligent, friendlier bird. The only problem is compatibility: a couple months ago, my girlfriend (who works at Petsmart) adopted a GCC (though honestly, I'm pretty sure it's a hybrid, since he has blue in places he shouldn't, and a dark head like a dusky). That conure immediately bonded with her and I, but absolutely disdained all other people, including other interested customers.

I am very fond of Duskies for how quiet and sweet they are, and interested in Patagonian for their larger size and better speaking ability, but it's hard finding good information on compatibility between different species. All I know is that I don't want to get another green cheek because I don't want to risk them being more interested than each other to us. What species would work well? Would I need to go outside of conures as a whole to help prevent that? Thanks!

I wouldn't be too worried about that at all, especially if you plan on housing the birds separately. I have a gcc and a black-cap (both pyrrhura conures) that have been living together in one cage for almost 12 years and are the best of friends and neither has lost any tameness.

Any parrot species can buddy up with any other parrot species if given the opportunity
