Hi all,

So my little GCC decided to hop on my head while I was putting away the solution and I'm not sure if he tried drinking it but it toppled over. He had some on his beak, I'm assuming from the splash or the sip. Would it harm him in any way? What needs to be done? He wouldn't have been able to drink a lot of it. It's late atm so I can't take him to the vet. He's acting normal and even ate a bit and drank. The solution is Opti-Free Replenish.

I think it would be okay. Saline solution is used on Birds all he time.

Yeah he's acting like his usual annoying self so I'm assuming it didn't affect him. I was told giving them milk mixed with olive oil would help.

I would be careful about the milk. Birds are lactose intolerant (and an excellent medium for bacteria, too). Olive oil should be fine, though I'd double check on that :)

Skittles has 'snuck' a sip of coffee on several occasions. I've solved that by investing in a covered mug.

I do second what Indy said. While milk is pretty much safe for us to drink, its not for birds. 100% fruit or vegetable juice is okay, in moderation- you just want to limit it given the sugar count.

Best to avoid dairy, salt and anything with added sugar (most fruits & veggies already contain sugar, so the ones that do- should be limited, ie fruits, peas, corn etc).

Okay, will do. Thank you so much for easing my worried mind ☺️ I just adore my little booger and would hate for something like poisoning to happen. I feel like a horrible owner for even letting it happen.
