Conure eye redness, conjunctivitis?

I noticed on 11/18 in warm lighting, that my conure Rio, has some redness in the white skin patch around his eye(s). Rio is almost 3 years old. I feed him nutriberries & Zupreem pellets. He gets calcium, as well as fruits & veggies. I have a call into my avian vet, because last night I noticed the skin further discoloring. In white light it appears to be nothing, perhaps blood vessels under the skin, but it's more apparent as of yesterday evening. I change his water with a freshly washed bowl every 24 hours & throughout the day as necessary. He's in a very clean cage. I throw pellets & seed out if it's a week old. He doesn't have discharge from eyes or ears or nose, no dirty vent, no real balance issues (he's naturally clutzy), he is eating fine & drinking fine. No more sleeping than usual. He's been more cuddly lately than usual & less objective to being on his back (which he usually hates). We are going to the vet later today. Just looking for any opinions before I go. Thanks!!

In case anyone who has read wants an update;
Took Rio to the avian vet. They believe he has a sinus infection. Learned sinus infections, pink eye & strep throat are all shareable with your bird. Tested for mites, none. The strep test revealed that the "cocti" one type over another from a mouth swab hinted to a sinus infection, causing the very faint discoloring around the eyes in a flesh tone. Vet noted no other physical signs appear to hint Rio is ill. Did some research of my own and found that sneezing (vet says no more than once a day), neck stretching and yawning are all indicators of an upper respiratory infection. Could be triggered from the house dropping to 62 degrees one night (don't go lower than 64) or could be that my Zupreem pellet feeds have molded in the packaging and consumption has caused infection. My vet prescribed a seven day round of antibiotics and a bacteria adding substance that works like yogurt for sick birds to correct the cocti so the levels are equal. Goes to show you, one can never be too cautious. Recommend if you see behaviors in your own bird or any obvious concern, to see your avian vet immediately. Hoping the medications take without making Rio sicker. Likewise, I hope this is not a chronic upper respiratory disease we are always fighting.
