RIP Pi - Sun Conure 02/06/11 - 09/10/11
This might be a really stupid question but I'm going to ask anyway.

So I know you get a Sunday conure if you mix a Sun and a Jenday but do other types of conures mix as well? Is it just specific types that will cross breed or would any conure breed with another conure regardless?

Is the question just so stupid that no one can bring themselves to reply? lol

As far as I know, its just ones like the sun/jenday. But maybe somebody else knows more about this.

So how do they get pineapple conures and the like then? Is it just lucky mutations?

When I used to study about Conures, they can breed with one another. Pineapple Green Cheeks is a mutation, not a mix. It is bred between a mutation of Yellow Sided Green Cheeked to a Cinnamon Green Cheeked.

Mutation colors of Green-Cheeked Conures

I've been thinking about getting a companion for Pi. I'd like another conure but I don't want babies. Ever. I think I would pass out if I woke up one morning to find eggs or baby birdies. lol

I seen a nanday/cherry headed??? conure for sale on a website the other day.

You can mix a Meyer's and a Senegal?

Who knew ...

Well, obviously whoever mixed them I guess.

I wonder if it was an accident or ...?

I don't know. I found it odd, and wonder if it is true, but I guess we'll never know.
